On a beautiful sunny day sit outside in Stillwater’s paved courtyard overlooking the river or cosy up inside amidst the beautifully restored 1830’s flour mill with warm timbers abounding. The outside seating comfortably accommodates up to eighty people. Stillwater offers casual cafe style food and service during the day from breakfast and lunch through to afternoon tea. At night the menu offers a la carte and degustation dining featuring an abundance of local game and seafood treasures. Also on offer is a full bar and at least twenty wines by the glass taken from an extensive wine cellar with a focus on the fabulous Tasmanian wine industry. With only sixty seats inside, reservations in the evening are necessary.

Delightful local produce leaps off the pages of their menus including dishes such as creamy seafood soup (Crema frutti brodo) and Spaghettini al gamberoni (spaghetti with pan seared prawns.) Tours start and finish at the Boag’s Centre for Beer Lovers; situated in the historic Tamar Hotel, open seven days a week. The Centre features a museum, gift shop and a bar and cafe, where you can taste our beer or enjoy a coffee and light lunch.

Our 90-minute fully guided experience provides a comprehensive insight into all stages of the brewing and packaging process, followed by a tasting of James Boag’s award winning beers accompanied by some of Tasmania’s finest cheeses. Bookings essential.

Bridestowe Lavender Estate, at Nabowla, Tasmania is considered one of the State’s most spectacular vistas during flowering in December and January. The 265 acre site is noted for its manicured fields of lavender, beautiful gardens and sophisticated tourist facilities and  attracts visitors throughout the year.

City Park is located in the heart of Launceston. This beautiful parkland features mature trees and shrubs, a display of annual flowers, a Japanese Macaque monkey enclosure, the John Hart Conservatory, a duck pond, senses garden, monuments, chess board, historic Albert Hall, barbeque area and a children’s playground. City Park was once called the ‘People’s Park’, which reflects how the park has been viewed by the people of Launceston since its beginnings. The park was originally developed by the Launceston Horticultural Society and handed over to the Launceston City Council in 1863. It has been a place of many important exhibitions, gatherings, musicals and cultural events and public meetings. This continues today.
